Co-founder and President of the 25 person firm Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects (founded 1976), Michael Gorman has over 36 years of professional architectural experience. Michael has been instrumental in developing his firm's portfolio of corporate and advanced technology design and continues to be involved in all phases of the firm's architectural services. In addition to architectural design, Michael offers special engineering expertise in complex Mechanical and Electrical Systems and Structural System analysis. His extensive experience in these specialties is a key element in the firm’s ability to successfully produce complex high quality projects within accelerated schedules and on budget.

Michael has been a key design, technical and project management resource for GRLA and the construction industry. He has appeared on local and national radio speaking about architectural design, and the role of the design professional in contemporary society. He has also been instrumental in the development and refinement of project management processes and procedures which have permitted fast-track delivery of large and complex projects for corporations world wide.

Michael’s projects include over 2 million square feet of ground up construction and interior renovations, and include a 20-year relationship with EMC Corporation. His projects have won multiple national design awards, have been published widely, and have been honored by the prestigious David B. Perini, Jr. Award for Project Team Effectiveness and the AGC Honor Award Build Massachusetts.

 

Scott Richardson, AIA, LEED AP is a Principal and Co-founder of Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects. GRLA is a 25-person planning, interior design and architectural firm focused on advanced technology facilities, corporate and instutional projects as well as retail, manufacturing, and building envelope sciences. The firm designs innovative buildings that respond to their clients' project programs, schedule and budget goals while maintaining an on-going focus on sustainable initiatives to lessen the global impact of all that they build.

GRLA’s long-standing commitment to sustainable design is championed by Scott, who helped to organize a sustainable information clearinghouse at the Boston Architectural Center in the late 1970's. Scott has worked on many sustainable projects throughout New England. He is currently a member of Boston International Facilities Management Association Green Committee and presents on-going green focused presentations to various organizations. Because of GRLA’s outreach regarding sustainable design, the Worcester Business Journal awarded the firm an Environmental Award in 2005.

Most recently Scott and GRLA completed a 350,000 square feet LEED-certified corporate building for Liberty Mutual in Dover, New Hampshire.
